Instructions for requesting cages and sliding mats:

There are two cages. We use the cages on the left. The cages on the right are for Irvine Sting. The 8U and 10U cage has 11" balls and is closest to the creek. The other cage is for 12U and 14U and has 12" balls.

You must email your request for a cage no sooner than 7 days in advance and your request must be emailed each week you want to use it. No reservations! For instance, if you want the 12-14U cage on Thursday the 19th, you must send me an email no sooner than Thursday the 12th - that can be 12:00 am Thursday the 12th. Requests will be granted in the order they are received.

Please email your request to Bill McIlrath.

Cages are open until dusk. Cage times during the week are 4:30-6 and 6-dusk until daylight savings time. On weekends, email me what time you want.

CAGE RULES: The same team may utilize both cages only if the other cage is not reserved. Cages must be raked and hosed after last shift of the day. No one under 18 is allowed inside the entire cage without a helmet. One player at a time is allowed in the cage while machine is in use. If you are picking up balls, please turn off the machine and guard it very closely to avoid any accidents!!! Coaches are not allowed to hit in the cages.

SLIDING MATS

Three sliding mats are available to use for practices. They will be kept in the Bill Barber snack bar. To use a mat, please email a request so we can keep track of who has the mats. There are field attendants at Bill Barber and they should be able to open the snack bar for you to use a mat. If you take the mat from Bill Barber, you are responsible for putting it back in the snack bar in the same spot from where you got it or giving it to the next coach who needs it.
